COUNTER SALES

Counter Sales is a key ‘front of house’ role. FINANCE ASSISTANT

You will report directly to the financial controller, and be responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures for ordering stock and receipting stock are being completed accurately. This enables us to pay the supplier first-time, by reducing the number of queries being raised. You will also resolve queries both internally and externally, owning the query until it is resolved. A high level of attention to detail is required along with strong analytical and IT skills. The finance assistant should be proactive and able to work on their own initiative.

You will:

· Liaise with branch managers to resolve invoice queries

· Resolve issues from invoices that are rejected by the automated process

· Answer telephone calls and respond to emails

· Liaise with suppliers to resolve payment queries

· Monitor Purchase orders

· Complete good received not invoiced reconciliations

· Reconcile Interbranch transfers

· Monitor and review unallocated aged creditors and chase missing invoices

· Identify suppliers who meet the electronic interface requirements and drive forward their automation.

· Reconcile supplier statements

· Process and allocation of credit notes

· Identification of improvement to processes

· Administration tasks as requested

Experience required: 

· Strong computer skills, particularly Excel and finance software packages

· Ability to work through processes quickly and accurately

· Experience in dealing with customers on the phone and via email

· Ability to resolve queries with internal departments and branches

· Proactive attitude to work

· Able to work without supervision

· Proven record of being self-motivated

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE OFFICER

 

Reporting to the financial controller, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payment of all purchase invoices. Strong administration and organisational skills are required, with a high level of attention to detail. Being able to communicate clearly at all levels within the business is essential.

You will: 

 

· Reconcile supplier statements

· Raise all supplier payments, standard month-end payment runs, plus one-off’s throughout the month

· Process pro forma invoices and obtain and process the final VAT invoice

· Post payments on our operating system; Kerridge

· Process outgoing rebates

· Update daily spreadsheets for cleared payments and keep records of upcoming payments

· Monitoring and processing settlement discounts, ensuring requirements are met

· Issue cheques

· Carry out appropriate fraud checks before making payments to new supplier details

· Adhere to data protection and privacy legislation

· Maintain and update purchase ledger accounts

· Produce and send remittances

· Update management team on cash position daily

· Administer the national merchant buying society payments

· Meet tight deadlines

· Clear statement queries

Experience required:

· Good computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Excel

· Proven experience of having excellent attention to detail

· Experience in dealing with suppliers on the phone and via email
